SACRAMENTS
BAPTISM
Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body the Church. The bond which God establishes in Baptism is indissoluble.
Book of Common Prayer, p. 298
In baptism we are made sharers in the new life of the Holy Spirit and the forgiveness of sins. Baptism is the foundation for all future church participation and ministry. Each candidate for baptism in the Episcopal Church is to be sponsored by one or more baptized persons.
All people of any age are welcome to be baptized. Those interested in receiving the Sacrament of Baptism should speak with Rev. Johanna following a service or contact her through our parish office.
EUCHARIST
In the Eucharist, we share Christ’s body and blood through bread and wine. This sacrament reflects Jesus’ actions at the Last Supper, and we believe His presence is truly in the bread and wine. We celebrate the Eucharist every Sunday at Zion. You may choose to receive just the bread if preferred. Also, gluten-free options are available—simply inform the priest at communion
